THE BRAND AND ITS GENESIS

Into The Beard was created by two childhood friends from the Jura who were passionate about the mountains and wide open spaces and who had always dreamed of moving to the Alps. It all started six years ago with Yann, after a sabbatical year in Australia. Back on the continent, he realised that there were few cosmetics dedicated to beards, and even fewer natural products.

Taking advantage of his expertise as a biochemical engineer, he started to concoct his own products, and shared them with his bearded friends, notably Adrien who brought his knowledge of digital communication to the Into The Beard adventure.

Créée en 2019. Yann se lance après 5 années passées dans l’industrie pharmaceutique et Adrien le rejoint peu de temps après le lancement de la marque.

Today it is in Saint-Gervais-les-Bains that the two managers have set up shop to develop products inspired by Alpine nature.

"Entrepreneurial life really started for me in Belgium where I was working after returning from Australia. Initially, Into the Beard was run as a project between friends. The aim was to test the market and get a taste of what we were passionate about. I had to juggle between my job and Into the Beard, which took up more and more of my time in the evenings and at weekends.

In the end, it was in 2019 that I took the plunge and left my job in a large pharmaceutical company to start up my own business full-time. Here I am, a full-time entrepreneur! - Yann

"I knew that Yann was making cosmetics on his own, and he would send me samples so that I could test them and give my opinion reviews. One day, when he found the right formulations, he didn't hesitate to contact me to see if I would be willing to give him a hand with branding and social networks. As soon as I hung up, I started researching, analysing the market and its competitors. I was a student at the time and still had more than a year of masters to complete.

During the March 2020 lockdown we had a lot of discussions with Yann about the future of the brand and I had to make a choice in my professional career. The lockdown made me realise two things: being locked down in Lyon sucks - being a full-time entrepreneur on such a project is a great career opportunity, especially with your best friend. June 2020 I'm officially joining the company as co-manager, let's go!" - Adrien


INTO THE BEARD, NATURAL CARE FOR MEN INSPIRED BY NATURE

Nous croyons au retour aux choses simples. La nature est bien faite et nous a inspiré dans nos démarches de création.

Nos produits sont faits dans notre laboratoire de production au pied du Mont-Blanc avec des partenaires locaux, des ingrédients naturels et issus de l’agriculture biologique. L’idée étant de proposer des formulations simples, saines, efficaces et faciles d’utilisation.

L’engagement d’Into the Beard se prolonge aussi au niveau associatif. Membre depuis 2019 de l’association 1% for the Planet. Into the Beard reverse 1% de son chiffre d'affaires pour la cause environnementale.

"Nature gives us so much, it's time to give back. This is our mantra. All our products are eco-designed. Right from the development phase, we introduce this concept. It guides us in our choice of raw materials and packaging, manufacturing processes, biodegradability of products and recycling/reuse of primary packaging. One of the first strong choices we made was to ban secondary packaging which has no use other than marketing. - Yann

"I didn't hesitate for a second when Yann suggested setting up the company in Haute Savoie. All the storytelling, brand content is based on the Alps, nature and its beautiful mountains, it was an obvious choice to come here. Regret? absolutely not. From the start we wanted to take the consumer with us. The line Forest is inspired by a walk in the forest, then we have a breath of fresh air with the line Altitude and a moment of relaxation by the fire with hot wine for the line Heritage. Is the goal achieved? Yesii, thanks to customer feedback. Is it satisfactory? Yes". - Adrien
